IBA speaks at National Summit on Women's Safety

Posted 06 September 2021

The National Summit on Women's Safety took place virtually on 6-7 September 2021. IBA's Director of Community & Customer Experience, Stella de Cos, spoke as part of a panel discussion on "Financial Freedom: creating economic security and escaping financial abuse."

"When our women are well, our children are well," said Stella. She went on to say that in order to advance women's safety, initiatives must include place-based programs, working with communities, led by people not policy, and affordable & safe long term accommodation.

These discussions form part of the consultation process for the new national plan to reduce gendered violence in Australia, which comes into force next year.
