Into Business Online Course

IBA offers an online learning course to assist Indigenous entrepreneurs to progress their ideas for business at their own pace. All the materials are provided via IBA’s online Learning Place platform, so participants can easily access them from anywhere with internet access.

During the Into Business online course participants will:

  • assess their skills, capabilities and suitability for business ownership
  • develop a simple business plan to help determine the viability of their business idea
  • research the strength of their business proposal
  • learn about general business principles and the preparation required to start a business.

The course is divided into three units of study:

Unit A – explores small business ownership fundamentals and how to prepare, plan and research your business idea

Unit B – looks at how you might market your business and introduces key financial aspects of your business such as pricing, sales projections and financial analysis

Unit C- looks further into financial planning for small business, business structure and key management considerations.

A voiceover will assist you in working through the learning materials, units and activities. You will be required to download and complete a business plan and a business action table to record your notes and action items.

Next steps

Email workshops@iba.gov.au and someone will get in touch to discuss how you can start your online business learning journey.

If after discussing your individual circumstances and identifying your business ownership goals and objectives you decide you would like to participate in IBA’s Into Business online course, we will create your personal account and then send you an email containing your username and a link to register your password.

System requirements

You will need a computer  with a good internet connection, speaker or headphones to listen to the voiceover, a printer and about 370MB of data to complete the course. To download a PDF reader to view and print your course materials visit get.adobe.com/reader.

The latest versions of browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome are recommended. To identify what browser and version you have currently visit urbanehub.com/troubleshooting.
