IBA invests alongside Indigenous organisations in operating businesses in a range of sectors, including tourism and hospitality, retail, industrial (manufacturing, mining services and primary industries), renewables and agriculture. These investments generate financial returns, as well as employment, training and supply chain benefits for Indigenous Australians.
As at 30 June 2023, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander partners and beneficiaries directly owned 45.3% of the total IBA investment portfolio. This equates to Indigenous equity worth $228 million and represents a significant increase from $211 million for the previous year.
