Finance Officer

IBA Level 3 ($83,145 - $90,341)

Location: Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane or Sydney

About the team:

Finance is responsible for ensuring IBA’s budgets and financial management are in compliance with the Commonwealth budgetary and financial framework. Finance is also responsible for financial management reporting across IBA’s program delivery branches and subsidiaries.

Duties:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Invoice and payment run processing including managing the approvals of the payment run.
  • First point of contact with Debtors chasing payment of
  • Update and maintain vendor database in a timely
  • Perform reconciliations including supplier statement reconciliations, credit card reconciliations and more.
  • Support the month end process by providing supporting documentation for month end
  • Report on Aged Payables plus other ad hoc reporting where applicable
  • Identify improvements to the accounts payable process
  • Other duties as required.

Required capabilities

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting and accounts payable
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage financial
  • Accurate data entry
  • Ability to build good relationships with vendors and
  • Ability to prioritise and
  • High level of accuracy and attention to
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work as part of a broader
  • Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and Accounting packages.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Capability

  • Awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander societies and culture.
  • Ability to liaise and communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
