Social Media Coordinator (Affirmative Measures)

IBA Level 3 ($83,145 - $90,341)

Location: Sydney, Brisbane or Canberra

About the Role:

The role will be part of the Strategic Communications team, which is responsible for the brand and communication needs across the business, internal and external, including marketing collateral, corporate documents, website, social platforms, significant events, and intranet communications.

As an integral part of the team, the Social Media Coordinator is responsible for planning and producing content to bring IBA’s stories to life across our social media platforms.

You’ll create culturally respectful content and help deliver campaigns that make a real impact. These include campaigns that build awareness, increase audience engagement, promote products and services, drive registrations to workshops and events, and profile customer success stories.

Our audiences include (prospective) customers, stakeholders, government partners, and the First Nations community.

This is an identified position, meaning it is only available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates.

Duties:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Create engaging social media campaigns from end to end that consist of theming, key messages, posts, videos, and graphics that reflect IBA’s brand and values.
  • Coordinate the content calendar and schedule posts across Meta, LinkedIn and YouTube.
  • Monitor engagement and respond to comments with a view to building communities and positive sentiment
  • Report on performance, ensuring we are refining our approach in line with insights and current trends
  • Support digital campaigns for key initiatives like home ownership, business workshops, and investment
  • Work closely with First Nations stakeholders to ensure cultural integrity in all content.

Required capabilities

These are essential unless otherwise indicated.

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing social media platforms and producing content (including video / reels and graphics) in a business context.
  • Strong and accurate writing and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for diverse audiences and different social platforms.
  • Experience in analysing social media metrics and preparing actionable reports.
  • Proficiency in social media tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Campaign Manager) and design platforms (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong organisational skills / time management skills and the ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience in SLR photography and videography.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and digital marketing strategies.
  • Experience working in government, financial or not-for-profit sectors.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Capability

  • Awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander societies and culture.
  • Ability to liaise and communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
