Diagram showing four steps to home ownership - Prepare, Register, Apply, Assessment

Having a safe and stable place to live can have a flow on effect of improving your financial position, health and general wellbeing, and buying a home is likely to be one of the biggest financial decisions you will make. We encourage you to take the time to learn as much as you can about home ownership, to make an informed decision.

Where do I start?

Kickstart your journey by preparing well. IBA offers a series of info sessions to provide you with the knowledge and tools to move forward. Understanding the process with IBA including timeframes, eligibility criteria and how to get yourself financially ready, are the keys to a successful outcome. During the info sessions, you can ask questions and gain confidence to navigate the home ownership process.

Info sessions are run mainly online, though from time to time we offer face to face info sessions, in limited locations.

View the upcoming info sessions, dates and register to attend.

Submitting an expression of interest

Once you have completed your research, you can either organise a call to speak with one of IBA’s home loan officers or start an Expression of Interest.

If you’ll be ready to buy a home within the next 3 months, you can submit an Expression of Interest via the MyIBA portal. For further information on the home finance process and to access the myIBA portal go to Applying for  IBA Home Finance
