Our impact

IBA has been at the forefront of measuring the impact of our activities from the perspective of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

We measure the impact of our products and services by asking our customers how they define success from their own perspective.

Our impact reports show that when we distribute capital in a targeted way, it can positively influence and lead to measurable improvements in financial wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Impact Report 2024: Pathways to financial wellbeing

The theme of our latest impact report is ‘pathways to financial wellbeing’.

The research shows that our supported finance model can deliver long-term benefits in financial wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and therefore wellbeing overall, even after customers have moved on from IBA.

By fostering financial wellbeing, and therefore stability, security, and quality of life, we aim to provide meaningful support that empowers individuals and strengthens communities.

ESG Strategy

The wellbeing of customers and the prosperity of the communities we work with are fundamental to delivering our purpose. Wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people extends beyond individual satisfaction and physical health. It includes deep connections to Country, culture, and community. This is central to our approach to measuring and reporting on impact and the way we manage Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risks and opportunities.
