Account Manager, Cashflow & Equipment Finance

IBA Level 5 ($99,849 - $110,703)

Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra

Through the Cashflow & Equipment Finance Program, administered by the Business Solutions Branch, IBA helps Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to finance the growth of commercially viable businesses by providing working capital solutions including Invoice Finance, Performance Bonds and Equipment Finance products.

The Cashflow & Equipment Finance team supports Indigenous businesses to develop their capabilities and take full advantage of their revenue generating opportunities.

Role:

Account Manager, Cashflow and Equipment Finance reports to the Operations Manager Cashflow & Equipment Finance and plays a key role in managing the settlement and the ongoing customer service and risk management processes for cashflow finance customers, with a focus on providing a high level of customer service and managing the continued appropriate risk controls and alignment with the Business Solutions strategy/business model.

Duties:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Verifying the authenticity of invoices submitted for funding with Invoice Finance.
  • Accurate maintenance of debtor and customer records including account reconciliation.
  • Work closely with customers to use the online system to operate and get the most out of their facility.
  • Monitor the performance of the portfolio and receivables ledgers and identify new risks.
  • Champion process and system improvements and efficiencies within IBAs risk tolerance.
  • Communicate effectively with necessary team members to document and settle all transactions in a prompt manner.
  • Assist with completing field exams and contribute to annual reviews where required.
  • Issue new performance bonds and manage customers queries.
  • Monitor cost reports and timely repayment of producer offset loans.
  • Other duties as required.

Required capabilities
These are essential unless otherwise indicated.

  • Display Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural capability including having:
    • awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and culture as well as the demonstrated ability to liaise, communicate and negotiate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous individuals and communities.
    • awareness and understanding of Australian Indigenous issues particularly as they relate to small business.
  • Strong operational experience in factoring and invoice discounting.
  • Knowledge of surety bonds.
  • Sound stakeholder management experience.
  • Sound financial analysis skills.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation including PPSR, Privacy and Anti-Money Laundering.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to negotiate constructive solutions with customers and manage expectations.
  • Ensuring that all work performed is timely, accurate and of a high standard, and meets customer expectations as well as legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Commitment to high quality customer service and demonstrated ability to build beneficial working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and customers.

 Prerequisite requirements

  • Previous factoring and invoice discounting operational experience
  • Sound commercial credit skills.
  • Knowledge of C3 factoring system.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake regional and remote travel, including overnight absences as may be required from time to time.
