Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

IBA Level 7 - $157,690 - $184,761
Non-ongoing - approx 12 months commencing August 2025

IBA’s Finance section provides financial and accounting services to IBA program areas, branches, and Subsidiary and Associate companies. It also provides high-level financial and budgeting advice to the IBA Chair, Board and Executive.

Role:
The role of the Financial Planning &Analysis manager is to support the reporting requirements for IBA. This role will be responsible for financial analysis and building robust models to support strategic and operational projects. The role will also have oversight on budgeting and Forecasting team at IBA. The role reports to the CFO.

Duties:
Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide high quality financial analysis, including modelling as required by IBA.
  • Ownership and oversight of the budgeting team, oversee forecasting and revisions schedules and provide business partnering support to the organisation.
  • Ensure all government reporting (including budget submissions) are completed to high standard with robust data checks and analysis in place to support.
  • Develop robust solutions for reporting, valuation and measurement of IBA’s loan portfolios. Applying relevant accounting standards.
  • Transfer of technical knowledge to staff through formal and informal information sessions and working arrangements. Mentor junior staff members and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Other duties as required.

Required capabilities
These are essential unless otherwise indicated.

Knowledge and experience

  • Sound knowledge of accounting & finance principles and practices.
  • Practical experience in financial modelling, including discounted cash flow and amortisation techniques.
  • Knowledge of lending and accounting systems.

Skills and attributes

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in working collaboratively and working independently.
  • Ability to communicate, liaise and negotiate sensitively and effectively with others, including Indigenous communities, individuals and organisations.
  • Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Capability

  • Awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander societies and culture.
  • Ability to liaise and communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.

Prerequisite requirements

  • An Australian recognised business/commerce degree.
