Manager, Sector Programs and Partnerships (Affirmative Measures )

IBA Level 6 ($130,538 - $144,922)

Location:  Brisbane, Canberra or Sydney

Community & Customer Experience (CCE) works alongside Products & Markets program areas and key stakeholders to to enhance the reach and impact of IBA’s products and services, driving lasting outcomes for our customers and communities. This includes designing and delivering targeted capability building products and services that support the sustainability of the Indigenous Business and community sectors such as the Accelerate with IBA and Strong Women Strong Business.

About the Role:
The Manager, Sector Programs and Partnerships, reports to and supports the Director, Community and Customer Experience to support IBA's Products & Markets Programs (Business Solutions, Home Ownership and Investments & Asset Management) by leading the design, delivery and strategic management of sector-facing initiatives to create impact for our customers and communities. This position will also be responsible for delivering program partnerships, ensuring alignment with IBA’s Partnership Framework, governance standards, and IBA Strategy.

Duties:
Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead end-to-end program delivery across a portfolio of national initiatives focused on economic empowerment, gender equity, and youth development, including the First Nations Women in Business Coaching and Mentoring Program.
  • Establish and manage program partnerships with stakeholders ensuring strategic alignment and compliance with partnership and governance frameworks.
  • Establishing initiatives focused on enhancing the customer experience across the Products & Markets programs, including the formulation of new, or changes to existing practices, products, and support arrangements to create positive outcomes for customers to support IBA’s strategic objectives.
  • Provide high-level reporting and performance analysis to support executive decision-making, impact measurement, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop a diverse team by managing performance, setting strategic priorities and planning activities, and coaching staff to ensure that the objectives are met and results are delivered.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Indigenous organisations, government bodies and industry partners.
  • Promote a culture of Continuous Improvement across the Products and Market teams and ensure initiatives are responsive and aligned to IBA's organisational strategy.

Required capabilities:

Knowledge and experience

  • Proven ability to understand identify economic development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and organisations, utilising IBA’s Business, Homes and Investments suite of products and services.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing policy, procedure and operational frameworks within a government and/or regulatory environment, with a focus on compliance and strategic alignment
  • Demonstrated capability to lead projects and influence team performance to deliver objectives and adapt to change and competing demands.
  • Experience managing and developing high performing team teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and accountability.
  • Strong understanding of lending principles and credit risk (Housing and Business), and a sound working knowledge of IBA’s policies and procedures or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.

Skills and attributes

  • Highly developed written communication skills and experience, with demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner, including preparing briefs, papers, performance reports to both operational and executive staff and the Board.
  • Well-developed negotiation and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at senior and executive levels using influence, clarity and persuasive communication, while adapting messaging to suit diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices across the Products and Market teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster cross-functional collaboration, bringing people from different areas and backgrounds together in a problem-solving environment.
  • Proven ability to deliver on projects with the agility to manage shifting priorities, respond effectively to change and competing demands.
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively, contributing effectively with a team environment while maintaining accountability for individual outcomes.
  • Sound time management skills and the ability to work autonomously in a challenging environment.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Capability

  • Awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander societies and culture.
  • Ability to liaise and communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.

Prerequisite requirements

  • Willingness and ability to undertake regional and remote travel, including overnight absences as required.
